Shah Rukh Khan comes back from London - My Name is Khan faces threat

Shah Rukh Khan, who has been under attack from Shiv Sena, because of his views on the participation of Pakistani players in the Indian Premier League, finally returned to Mumbai from London on Saturday.
He said it was sad that his remarks have been misconstrued but ruled out meeting Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray to resolve the controversy.
"I think what I said has been misconstrued. I am pro good relationship with countries. I am not pro some other country and not my own country. How is it possible?" he told media at airport.
When asked if he would visit Thackeray's home Matoshree to explain his position, SRK said Bal Thackeray was a senior leader and he has gone to his residence whenever he was called. "I have been there so often. Yes, I would like to go and have a drink with him. But on this matter, I don't see... there is no reason for going and asking. But if my stand needs to be explained to someone, I have already done it. I don't think there is an issue on that front," Khan said.
The 44-year-old actor, whose upcoming film My Name Is Khan faces threat from Sena supporters, also added: "If there is any misunderstanding, let's be gracious and let's talk it out."
Against the backdrop of the controversy over his 'Mumbai belongs to all Indians' stand, Khan said, "I only said what every Indian should say. It is in the constitution. I don't want to use big words. If I say anything it will be misconstrued and turned around.
"I am what I am because of Mumbai and I would like everyone in Mumbai to be happy. I think what is happening is very unfortunate. I think all the groups also want Mumbaikars to be happy. Then why create this kind of atmosphere?"
On why his team Kolkata Knight Riders did not pick up Pakistani players, the megastar said, "There was only one slot available and nobody told us to take or not take Pakistani players. We also have to take into consideration the prevailing atmosphere."

The International Lunar Geographic Society recently announced that a crater in the ‘Sea of Tranquility’ will be named after Bollywood star, Shah Rukh Khan.
A proud Shah Rukh Khan said: “I am in a small way doing good service for my country. The fact that my name is chosen is because the world is looking at India and I happen to be a part of this wonderful land of opportunity.”

A. R. Rahman - a concert and a message

A. R. Rahman captivated an audience of 70,000 in Paramatta on Saturday night with a spectacular musical show.
This was more than just a concert, it was performed for free as an affirmation that the friendship between Australians and Indians cannot be broken by violence and stupidity.
Former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh expressed his own distress at the violence. He also went on to describe Rahman as the Sachin Tendulkar of music.
Rahman was rapturously welcomed by what was probably the largest gathering of Indians ever seen in Australia, among the 70,000-plus crowd.
His appeal lies in an ability to cross and mix genres and clearly he is a gifted composer and singer. Dance and fireworks made the show even more grand and entertaining.
The music was a means - for a message that strongly needs to be put through. The violence must end; the friendship must remain.

Is the Veer girl like Katrina?

There have been comparisons between the hot and sexy Katrina and the new face in Veer, Zarine Khan. Salman Khan denies that Zarine resembles Katrina in any way.
Salman said: “Except being fair and having a sharp nose, I don’t see any similarity between them. Give god that credit for not making two people identical.” Talking about how she came to the movie and joined the cast, he says: “The film is of a different genre, so we needed a young fresh look. More than that we needed somebody with a yesteryear look. How our grandmothers and great grandmothers used to look, we needed someone like them."
“Just two weeks were left to start the film and we didn’t have anyone who would fit the role. We were searching left, right and centre and met her by coincidence on the set of Subhash Ghai’s ‘Yuvvraaj’."

Vidya Balan in Ishqiya

Vidya had to suck Arshad's thumb in a suggestive manner for the movie Ishqia. Everytime she had to do it, she burst into laughter.
Vidya says, “Fortunately Arshad is a friend. We’ve gotten along well from the time we did Lage Raho Munnabhai together. I don’t know I’d have been able to do a scene like putting my co-star’s finger in the mouth with someone else. That gesture of sucking Arshad’s thumb was so raunchy and sexy, so not me, I couldn’t connect with it all.”
Talking about her character Vidya says, “I play this rustic voluptuous woman. All my weight-loss happened after I did this film. I had to looked filled up for this part. In Ishqiya everything from the way I wore my saree to the way I looked at men, was alien to me. The role exposed me to a new way of interpreting a liberated woman. My character in Ishqiya may not know about feminism. But she’s truly liberated.”
